Group Salus XXI (previously the Centre Mèdic Fuster) was created in 1943, when Dr. Rafael Fuster set up his first gynaecological consulting room in Sabadell. Doctor Fuster was renowned for his untiring zeal to exceed himself and for his constant search for excellence in his work, values which allowed him to achieve the first pregnancy, through in vitro fertilisation in El Vallès Occidental (1991) and to be a pioneer in practicing epidural anaesthetic for childbirth (1974).
