Induced ovulation

A very high percentage of the patients who visit us because of sterility have alterations in their ovulation, whether due to irregular ovulation (oligomenorrhea) or an absence of it (amenorrhoea).

These alterations are mainly due to an alteration in the function of the hypothalamus, the pituitary gland or the eggs, which are responsible for producing the hormones that regulate and provoke ovulation.

By inducing ovulation, the idea is, through administering hormones, to correct these alterations with the aim of achieving monthly ovulation.

So that the induction is more effective, ultrasound scan controls on the follicular growth induced by the treatment are carried out, that allow one to exactly determine the specific moment when ovulation will occur.

This process is combined with directed coitus or with artificial insemination to optimise the performance.
